ARE YOU SITTING COMFORTABLY?
WELCOME TO OUR LIBRARY
Here at St. Patrick’s we encourage reading for enjoyment.
Our library is a special place. It is at the heart of our school; where we come to read, browse, research and learn.
We have a large collection of fiction books, from favourite authors such as, Roald Dahl, Enid Blyton, Michael Morpurgo, Gillian Cross, Jeff Kinney, Chris Riddell, Jaqueline Wilson, David Walliams and Jeremy Strong, to name a few. Whilst our non-fiction, ranges from topics such as; Dinosaurs, World Religions, Science, Plants, Animals, Art, Sports and History through the ages.
We have taken positive steps to ensure that there are titles which engage the interests of both girls and boys.
All our classes have a designated library time each week, and there is an added opportunity to change library books after school on Thursday’s, from 3:20 – 3:50 p.m.
Our new library computer system supports children in choosing their next book, to be aware of new arrivals and to see which are the most popular books being read.
We look forward to welcoming you into the school library.
